How does it work ?
Palomar's Fractional Infrared Deep Lux handle injects infrared light inside the derma. This light creates clotting of tissues which generates collagen growth within the derma. The new collagen creates a tightening effect all over the treated area.
Why are these treatments different than others?
Rather than using a single large light beam to spread infrared light in the skin, Palomar's Lux DeepIR uses the Fractional approach: the diffusion of a battery of smaller beams. Each light beam creates a heat column within the derma, surrounded by a non affected zone. The non affected tissues stimulate a remodelling of collagen as well as a quicker recovery.
Are these treatments safe? Are they painful?
Palomar's Lux IR is much safer and comfortable than the block heating technique used by other systems because it leaves a large portion of the skin unaffected by pulsed light.
Additionnaly, Lux deepIR cools the skin in three steps; before, during and after each light pulse, so you feel very little discomfort during treatment.
What should I expect after treatment?
You may feel residual heat, a tightening, or a redness in a the treated area, which disappear a few hours after treatment. As a large portion of the skin was not affected by light pulses, downtime is short. Usually, you can go back to work or to your normal activities right after treatment and without any recovery time.
To obtain the best possible results and a smoother and tighter skin on your face, your neck or other parts of your body, we advise you to opt for a series of treatments with two to four weeks in between.
Although you get amazing results right from the first session, a minimum of six treatments is recommended for long term effects. These treatments are usually given once every two weeks. After the six initial sessions, addtional sessions twice a year will be sufficient to maintain the rejuvenated appearance of your skin.
