Definition
Juvederm™, Restylane™ and Teosyal™ are injectable gels made of Hyaluronic acid, a complex sugar produced in living cells. Hyaluronic acid is a natural constituant of human skin, and therefore does not require any allergy test. Gels made with Hyaluronic acid offer instant results which are however resorbable and therefore limited in time. Your physician injects the gels inside the derma and/or subcutaneously to soften out wrinkles, fill scars, plump lips, and to enhance or reshape the contour of your face. The results offer a natural appearance.
Procedure
The patient rests comfortably in a semi seated position. The skin is thoroughly disinfected. A mild local anesthesia may be performed if necessary. The gels are injected in tiny amounts by an ultrafine needle, resulting in minimal discomfort. The entire procedure lasts from 15 to 30 minutes depending on the effect you want to achieve.
What should I expect after treatment?
Results are instantaneous. You can expect some redness, swelling, soreness or an itching sensation in the treated area. After a lip treatment, your lips may become swollen and look slightly uneven. This is a normal effect of the injection(s). However, this discomfort generally disappears in less than a week.
How long will the effects last?
Entre 6 et 12 mois.
